About Cape Ann Energy Network

Cape Ann Energy Network is a grass-roots, community-led effort focused on identifying concerns and fostering solutions to climate change issues that our Cape Ann communities must face.

Founded in 2002, this all-volunteer organization works with citizens, schools, government, businesses and other organizations to reduce our individual and regional carbon footprint. We have over 150 network members and encourage your to join us! To join, or if you'd just like to be on our mailing list, click here.

Why Worry?
Coastal communities will be among the hardest hit by global warming in coming years. A creeping shoreline, changing ocean ecology and increasingly powerful storms are some of the factor uniquely experienced by Cape Ann communities. Already, we see the consequences of change through increased insurance costs, increased energy costs and studies showing warmer waters may reduce lobster and cod fisheries.
